Hello all!
I wanted to let you know that Baby Kailyn arrived on August 27, a week early ๐ She was a tiny 5 lbs 10 oz! If you are not a fan of my Facebook page, head over and “like” it…I’ve been posting some updates mixed in with my crafty posts ๐
Here are a few pictures of my sweet little squirt, and because this post is about Kailyn, I thought I’d share one of the paper crafted items I made for her nursery.
Here’s one of the items I made for her nursery. I used a paper mache letter K from Joann Fabrics & Crafts and covered it with paper, flowers cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, and Sparkles Flourishes (I seriously LOVE these!).
I didn’t want to use Mod Podge, and found that the Scotch tape runner for the ATG works best for adhering the paper to the letter. I ran out of it and none of my other adhesives were holding the paper onto the paper mache letter…so I had to make a Michael’s run and get more! Once it was all adhered, I inked all the edges with Cocoa ink and a sponge dauber so it would really pop.
I put some sparkles in the center of most of the roses. I LOVE this rose from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge…it’s my go-to flower, and what I used for making Zoey’s Z and all the paper flower wedding bouquets I have made (to name a couple projects). I like to hot glue them onto my projects…it dries quickly and securely.
This floral paper from Echo Park is the most perfect paper I’ve found with all of her exact nursery colors…I love it! It’s from the Sweet Girl line (perfect). After using the floral paper the first time I wanted more and the store I originally got it at was out. My sweet friend Nichole tracked some down and gave me several more sheets with my baby shower gift. She’s so thoughtful!
I couldn’t tell you where all the paper for the roses is from…I collected tons of paper from my stash and various stores when I found patterns that I liked in the right colors ๐
You’ll be seeing this K again, as I plan to use it as a photo prop for some photo shoots.
I have a couple other nursery projects finished that I will share, have 2 more to still make (and now need to find the time to do them with an infant…although she’s a GREAT sleeper!!), then I will share her whole nursery! I know I keep saying that, but it will be worth the wait. It’s so adorable ๐
