No-Sew Zebra Ribbon Flower Headband for Baby Kailyn

I’ve made quite a few headbands recently for Baby Kailyn, so I thought I’d share them with you. I’ll start with this zebra print flower, which is the first one I made for her first photo shoot. 🙂 She was about a month old in these pictures. Awww, how quickly they change…it’s only been 1.5 months since then and she’s so different now!

All the ribbon and the stretch headband came on spools from Hobby Lobby. I started with a felt circle approx 1.5″ and hot glued 1.5″ zebra ribbon around the perimeter, kinda folding/pleating as I went. I added about 1″ of hot glue as I went so that it wouldn’t dry before I got the ribbon down. Then I did another layer of ribbon, gluing it down just inside the first layer.

The hot pink tulle came as pleated ribbon already, so I just added one layer of that on the inside, the same way as the other. CTMH’s rhinestone brad (retired) made the perfect flower center! I used pliers to cut the brad part off, then hot glued it down. (Liquid Glass would work as well…probably even better. Or E6000. Hot glue doesn’t always stay stuck to metal very well but I was in a hurry for her to wear it.)

I sized the elastic to her head and hot glued the ends together. Then I glued the flower onto the headband over the hot glue. I added another felt circle to the inside of the headband for a finished look, and also so the died glue wouldn’t bother her. (You could also sew any part of this headband, but I avoid sewing whenever possible.) 🙂
