Get More Out of Your Stamps: Brushed Workshop on the Go With a Twist

Hello, and TGIF! Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you. This layout is featured in the Brushed Workshop on the Go and would be perfect for your Easter photos. I wanted to show you how I put some twists on it to better suit my photos and my style.

I used the same general layout and embellishing, which took out most of the guesswork. Using the cutting diagram and general instructions is a huge time-saver!

I love doing CTMH’s Workshops on the Go (WOTG). They always feature several great techniques, I always learn new things! For example, take a look at the diamond background. It’s created by cutting an overlay from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and using it as a mask. Then I took sponge daubers and sponged over the mask with my inks.

The kit also includes a tip to make your stamps stretch farther. If you notice there are 2 sizes of butterflies on the layout. But in the stamp set (see below), there is only 1 butterfly stamp. I used my Cricut to cut out the butterfly in the same size as the stamp, and one size smaller (these sizes are given in the guide). You can still use the stamp on a smaller butterfly! I probably wouldn’t have thought of that! (There are also alternative instructions if you are not using a Cricut.)

I love these beautiful metal flowers that come in the kit. They are available separately as well (as are all embellishments in the kit), but you save some money by buying the kit. But the WOTG kit is the only way to get the exclusive stamp set! (This stamp set was a must-have for me!)

TIP: Do you notice in the stamp set below that the sentiment I used is actually all one stamp? I didn’t want “My heart is filled with sunshine” all in one line so I just snipped it into 2 stamps! Easy peasy and you can always mount them on your acrylic block together again. This is just another way to get more out of your stamps!
