Hello!
I have had so much fun playing with Close to my Heart’s new watercolor paints. I have never used watercolors before (even though my aunt is a professional watercolor artist!), and I can’t believe I waited this long! These paints have a vibrant pigment, unlike some cheaper brands. (And these are only $11.95!)
Kailyn recently turned 2 so I made these fun thank you cards to thank our guests for her gifts.

I had fun with just playing with a variety of simple brushstrokes. You really can’t mess up! It’s so fun to just keep painting and painting….you can bust out a lot of card fronts in a short period of time!
I think this is one of my favorites. I like the white space.
This next one I played with splatters. I just added a little water to the brush, loaded it up with some paint, then tapped the brush lightly. The closer to the paper, the larger the splatter.
This next one I used more water and less paint for a more pastel look.
After I finished painting I set the papers aside to dry. Once they were dry the paper was a little wavy so I set them under a dictionary overnight and they flattened out nicely.
Then I used Archival Black ink and one of the new Hello, Life stamp sets and BOOM, easy, yet impressive card! I cut the watercolor paper down to 4″ x 5.25″ and them mounted onto some black cardstock at A2 size before putting onto my card base.
