Watercolor & Heat Embossed Feathers Card + Process Video

Hello!
I am sure I’m not the only one who is not ready to let go of summer. Here in the PNW, our summer didn’t come until July and I am just not ready for fall yet! But, with kids back in school, back-to-school colds cycling through our family, and the sun setting earlier, fall is slowly creeping into my summer mindset 🙂

So for this card I wanted to use bright and cheery colors that had just a *hint* of fall. I think this does the trick.

Here’s my process video, and more still shots and descriptions are below. (If you like this video, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel!)

I can’t get enough of this September stamp of the month from Close to my Heart. That feather makes me swoon! I’m also really digging the black Nuvo drops.

I have been having so much fun with watercoloring lately, as you may have noticed. I love that it doesn’t have to be perfect to look amazing. I watercolored first with my Gansai Tambi watercolors, then stamped the feathers with Versamark Ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.

I cut the Thanks die-cut 3 times and glued them all together with Ranger Multi Medium Matte for a more 3D look. Then I coated it with CTMH’s shimmer brush (like Wink of Stella). Isn’t that sparkle amazing? It shows up really well on black. The Thanks die I used from CTMH is retired now, but I also like Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Thanks die.

Here’s a look at the Stamp of the month set. The best part is it’s only $5 with a $50 purchase!
