Hiking Scrapbook Layout With CTMH Fresh Air Paper Pack + Process Video + How I Fixed an Inky OOPS!

Hello!

One of my favorite things about living in Oregon is all the outdoor adventures there are to be had, especially in the summer! My kids are finally old enough that we can go adventuring without having to worry about strollers and all the “baby” stuff. (Can I get an Amen?!)

Our youngest is a little over 2 years old and loves to run and do things on his own. But while we don’t often have to worry about a stroller anymore, we do still have to choose “easy” hikes and adventures that he is able to participate in (and still need to keep a nap in mind!).

So this past spring, when the weather started warming up, my husband and I took the kids on our first family hike without an Ergo or stroller. It was about an hour away at an amazing little spot that a friend told us about, Sweet Creek Falls. It had a little elevation with a rewarding waterfall view at the end, but was mostly flat where the kids could walk and run on their own. It was amazingly beautiful everywhere you turned.

ENTER FRESH AIR PAPER PACKET!! 🙌🌲

As many of you likely know first-hand, being a mom AND a scrapbooker = why I pay for extra iCloud storage. 😂 I always take a lot of photos…and this adventure was no exception! You’ll see in my scrapbook process video below (or HERE) how I was able to fit a ton of photos on my layout using Pocket Plus memory protectors.

I was so inspired by our hike and the photos, combined with the fact that I had just received my Fresh Air paper packet, that I actually created this layout within a week of our hike! (Just got behind on sharing it!) But good thing I did, because now I get to participate in Heart 2 Heart’s Fresh Air Fun challenge this week 🙂 I printed the photos at home on my Selphy Photo Printer. (I made a video of how I do this HERE, using these photos as my example!)

Ok, now on to the layout. Here is my process video (or view it on YouTube). Below are lots of still shots as well.

Here is the 2-page layout before adding the Pocket Plus. (BTW, this amazing Fresh Air Paper packet and coordinating products retires at the end of Aug. So if you love it as much as I do, be sure to snag one (or two) now!)

Can you tell that the Complements are copper-foiled?! They are soooo pretty in person, it’s hard to capture in the photos!

And now, here’s what it looks once you add the Pocket Plus pages…

Here’s a closer look at the front and back of the Pocket Plus pages…

I love that the Pocket Plus allows you to get more photos in your layout without having to add extra layouts for the event. Plus they add an interactive element and makes it fun to flip through. The paper inside of the pocket pages is from the paper pack as well – each of CTMH’s paper packs comes with a “cut-apart page” with 3×4 and 4×6 cards that you can cut from the 12×12 paper.

I really love pocket scrapbooking and like that the Pocket Plus are like a smaller version of pocket scrapbooking. Designing a pocket page is a bit different from designing a traditional scrapbook page, so it adds a fun twist and keeps my brain thinking in different ways! 😁 I often mix my Picture My Life (Project Life) 12×12 pocket scrapbook pages in with my traditional 12 x 12 scrapbook layouts, so this is just another way of combining the pockets.

Thanks for visiting today! I really appreciate you stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Let me know if you have any questions at all!
