Hello!
Welcome to the first CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog hop of 2019. If you have come from
Brenda’s blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, visit
Melinda’s blog for the list of participants.
Here’s a little peek at my project – I made a set of 5 cards for you today.
You are in for a treat…this month’s stamp of the month,
Card Captions, is going to be a popular one. It’s filled with sentiments for just about every occasion you might need for a card!
This stamp of the month set and the products I used for my project are all found in the brand-new Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book, which launched today!
You can view it here >
Without further adieu, here is my project. I used the cut-apart paper sheet from the new
Something Fierce paper pack. I got 5 cards out of it and could have made more…plus have a lot more cut-apart pieces that I saved for scrapbooking! I added some zip strips and scraps, various embellishments, and cardstock for the card base.
Here is my process video as I made this set of cards, and below it are some close-ups and more details. If you enjoy this video, please subscribe to my channel on YouTube. 🙂
My kids aren’t really into dinosaurs (yet) so I figured I wouldn’t use them for scrapbooking. But I think they are super cute and they are perfect for cards for when they go to their friends’ birthday parties. The first 3 cards are dinosaur-themed, and I varied them for boys or girls. But the last two are far from dinos and could be used for anyone!
For this first card, I cut the “Happy Birthday” stamp in half so that I could stamp each word separately. I popped up the dino on foam squares from the Shaker Window Foam and Acetate pack. And don’t you love those puffy star stickers?! They add fun dimension with a pop of color! Swoon!
I stamped all of the sentiments with Archival Black ink. I find that this ink stamps the most vivid black. It does stain your stamps, but that doesn’t bother me.
For this third card, I again cut the sentiment in half to stamp the words “birthday” and “wishes” separately. It doesn’t bother me to do this since I can always mount them on my block together and stamp as intended. But if you can’t bring yourself to do it, then you can ink up only half of the stamp at a time.
These next two are more simple and not dinosaur-themed at all.
This cactus card turned out to be my favorite. For some reason, I think the cactus make a perfect “get well soon” card. It is actually a sticker I had left over from the January
Craft With Heart subscription. (I’ll be posting that layout soon!)
I hope you enjoyed these cards!
