Hello!
I have a bright and cheery rainbow card to share with you today, complete with a process video (below).
I wanted to make a rainbow & sun card because of that fun sentiment from the January stamp of the month that says “sending you sunshine and rainbows.” I think it’s such a fun sentiment for a variety of needs. This can be used as a sympathy card, a thinking of you card, a birthday card, and so much more. Who doesn’t need a little brightness added to their day when they open up their mail?!
I had this idea in my head to make a rainbow coming out of clouds. I used the Decorative Borders thin cuts dies (seriously a must-have) to make the clouds from White Daisy cardstock. (Watch my video to see how I added single clouds from the border to make them “fluffier.”)
Once I started playing, this turned out quite different from what I initially envisioned in my head, and at first I didn’t like it. But once I got used to it, it grew on me 🙂 Does that ever happen to you? I think this looks very artsy with the stamped “splatters.”

You can use the Rainbow “rings” for free, but in order to use the sun you’ll need to own the CTMH You Are Here collection. If you don’t have this collection already, it is amazing – there’s a font and hundreds of cuts on it plus it comes with coordinating stamps! Well worth the purchase!!
BEST PAPER FOR CRICUT!
CTMH cardstock cuts SO NICELY on the Cricut. It is a heavy weight plus I think it has to do with the fact that’s a white core – it isn’t dyed all the way through. Whatever the reason, it will always be my go-to Cricut paper. The CTMH patterned paper is also cardstock-weight and cuts just as nicely.
$5 STAMP OF THE MONTH
Here is the January stamp of the month, Card Captions. It is available for only $5 with any $50 purchase on my website.
