Hello!
Welcome to the March CTMH Stamp of the Month blog hop. This month’s SOTM is called This Happened. It is perfect for scrapbooking and Project Life/pocket scrapbooking. I used photos in my project, but I didn’t do scrapbooking!
If you’ve come from Michelle’s blog, you’re on the right path, but this hop continues in a circle, so you can keep on going. Here is a full list of participants.
The Project
Since this set lends itself more toward scrapbooking, I tried thinking outside the box to come up with a way to use these stamps in a card. I have been meaning to send my in-laws a copy of my kids’ school pictures (better late than never!), so I made this cute little diagonal pocket card to enclose them in. I used this tutorial and you can watch my video tutorial below (followed by lots of pictures!).
I used the Heart Happy paper and stickers – the colors worked perfectly with my kids’ photos!
Everything I stamped is in Candy Apple ink. I just love this perfect red color.
I stamped the small open heart a few places – on the red diagonal pocket, on the envelope, and on the enclosure card. I also stamped a couple of other images on the front and back of the envelope.Do you see where “remember” is in the stamp set? I cut it right out of the middle of the stamp! I know some of you are probably cringing. I can always put it back in if I want to stamp it as intended, but I saw myself using it separately more often than part of the larger stamp.
For the enclosure card, I cut the Mint xoxo paper to 3×4 and then stacked a clear acetate white frame pocket card on top (these acetate cards are on clearance right now!). The mini staples are just for looks – they wouldn’t staple thru the acetate. So I stapled through the white ribbon and adhered to the acetate with a glue dot.
Side note: this is the first time I used this white ribbon and I really like it. It’s a thin cotton, like muslin materials. Really soft and easy to manipulate.
I added a sticker from the Heart Happy sticker sheet on top, and then hid my adhesive behind the sticker to adhere the acetate card to the xoxo paper.
Here are some detail shots along with what it looks like when everything is tucked in to pockets, ready to go in the envelope.
I finished the card off with a few more stickers, some fun irridescent I Heart Us adhesive sequins, and silver embellishing thread.
I hope you enjoyed!
