One Card Sketch, Two Ways | CTMH Zoe Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Zoe Blog Hop! If you’ve come from Katy’s blog you’re on the right path, but this hop will go in a circle. So get comfy and get ready for some great Zoe inspiration!

This beautiful paper pack is from several years ago but it was a popular one, so CTMH refreshed it and brought it back for a limited time! It’s available as a paper pack [including a 12×12 (!!) sticker sheet], a workshop kit with pre-designed scrapbook layouts and cards, and has a coordinating stamp set. See more details.

For my project, I decided to use one of the card patterns from the Love at First Sight Cardmaking kit (featuring the soft and beautiful Feels Like Home paper). I had just completed the cards from that kit and love how this pattern shows off so many of the fun patterns that come in the paper pack. So I decided to use the same pattern using the Zoe paper pack.

I stamped in a waterproof ink so that I could watercolor the balloons. I smooshed smoothie, glacier, and sweet leaf inks into the tops of their respective ink pads and picked up the color with my waterbrush. I painted the color on just like watercoloring, but using my ink pads! I stamped some of the smaller images from the stamp set around the stamped panel for a little fun. Be sure to use a waterproof ink such as Archival Black (my preference) or Intense Black if you plan to watercolor because the regular dye inks will bleed with the water!

I used a similar technique to color the pink banner on the Happily Ever After card – but I used a waterbrush to pick up color from the tip of a colored pencil and then colored it onto the banner.

Didn’t that turn out cute? I paired it with the Stamp of the Month for May called To my Bestie. It is filled with so many useful images and sentiments. And if you haven’t seen the April stamp of the month yet, it’s another good one…and only available until the end of this month.

Have a wonderful Thursday, my friends! I hope you were inspired to try the same card design using multiple papers and/or stamps that you have in your stash. It’s fun to give them a similar…but different look.

Now head on over to Lauren’s blog.
